Bristol Balint Study Day & Balint Society AGM Friday 1st December 2023

We are pleased to be able to offer a further Bristol study day this year

The study day, which will take place at Engineers House, Bristol, will be of interest to clinicians and trainees from a range of disciplines and backgrounds and working in a variety of settings.  The study day welcomes all who are interested in Balint, in leading Balint groups and/or supervising Balint leaders.

We will bring themes of inclusion and diversity into our introductory talk and the study day thinking how the society has changed with a wider range of clinicians and professionals now involved. 

The day will also focus on the usefulness of Balint as a form of reflective practice, the ongoing work of Balint, how we work as Balint leaders, with whom we are working, what they are bringing to the groups and how we think about all of this 

The introductory talk will be followed by participation in Balint groups with time and space for discussion

There will be groups suitable for everyone depending on their experience of Balint.

A classic or regular Balint group will be suitable for those with no previous experience of Balint

Leadership groups are for all those with some Balint group leadership experience and those working towards accreditation

Supervision groups will be appropriate for accredited leaders

We will also offer a specific ‘doctors in training' group with the aim of this group being to further understanding of the needs of medical students and doctors in their first few years of training as well as to encourage interest in Balint.

Leadership Experience - Please state your previous Balint group experience if any. Please state if you are on the Balint group leadership accreditation pathway & if you have any experience of leading Balint groups.

Cancellation by a Delegate

Cancellation requests should be submitted in writing to the Administrator (administrator@balint.co.uk) with the bank account name, sort code and account number used to pay the registration fee.  The Society will refund the registration fee paid at day delegate rate, less an administration charge of £25.00. 

Refund of payments for overnight accommodation and the annual dinner will be subject to the Society being able to change the number of delegates contacted to the provider, or there being a refund by the provider.  Late cancellations may therefore receive only a proportion or none of this payment. 

In the case of payment by Trusts, an alternative delegate may be sent to the event free of charge.  Please notify the administrator of their details. 

When a delegate does not attend without notice, no refund can be issued. 

Cancellation by the Society: In the unlikely event of the Balint Society cancelling an event the registration fee will be refunded in full. 

Occasionally it is necessary to make late changes to an event programme and the Society reserves the right to do this.
