Oxford Balint Weekend, Corpus Christi College: 4th to 6th October 2024
Balint and Fresh Perspectives
Come to Oxford to enjoy a weekend of Balint group work and hear about links with mentalisation
Groups are made up of GPs and allied professionals, led by experienced leaders, and explore the psychological and emotional aspects of patient work.
The following groups are offered:
- Ordinary Balint Group: these are for those with experience or no experience of Balint and for the more experienced leaders wishing to attend an ordinary group.
- Group Leaders Group: for those wishing to learn more about leadership or who are already on the accreditation pathway.
- Supervision Group: for accredited leaders if there is adequate interest and numbers.
Participation in the Group Leaders Workshop counts towards Leadership Accreditation.

General Information:
- Start & Finish Time: The conference commences on Friday evening 6.00 pm and ends on Sunday at 12 noon
- Student Places: A limited number of Student places are available on a first-come, first-served basis (supported by the Cyril Gill and Don Bryant funds). These are for medical students in the clinical part of their course, and therefore able to present a patient contact to their group. You must still be a student at the time of the weekend. Residential Cost is £340 which includes 12 months membership of the Balint Society, Non-residential £90. Please apply by email to Joanne Etches: administrator@balintsociety.org.uk if you wish to attend.
- Fees: The conference fee includes accommodation and food unless you select non-residential. Non-residential includes all meals except breakfast.
- Early Bird Discount: this finishes on the 26th July 2024. Any registrations after this date will incur a £30 surcharge. Please note we cannot guarantee college accommodation for bookings made after the 26th July 2024.
