This weekend event will provide an opportunity for clinical and other professions and those in training to explore their feelings about patients in the safety of small groups. Balint groups provide a framework for reflecting on our practice. Michael Balint described the clinician as the most potent drug. This work aims to increase therapeutic effectiveness and develop self-awareness.

Venue: To be held at Malone House, Barnett Demesne, Belfast 

CPD: Approved for 10 External Credits by College of Psychiatry Ireland

This conference is open to multi-disciplinary professionals. Both Classic Balint groups and a Leaders Group will be available.

The next Online Leaders' Workshop will take place on Saturday 30th November 10.30 a.m. – 12.30 p.m.  We will be exploring how different platforms may impact our relational experience as leaders and participants of online Balint Groups.  We will also dedicate time to sharing our experiences of running online groups more generally.

This online workshop is for online leaders, co-leaders and those who may be planning to lead online.

The event cost is £15.  Deadline for registration: 25th November 2024.

We are delighted to bring to you our Leeds Balint event.

This one-day event will be taking place at the Met Hotel, Leeds.

The theme for this year’s study day is, “Balint groups across the professions.” 

The day will begin with a brief introduction to groups from various disciplines and a subsequent conversation between the group leaders.

This will be followed by the opportunity to participate in different types of Balint groups; Ordinary, Leader’s and Supervision.

As part of the event, we will also be hosting our Balint Society Annual General Meeting followed by drinks. 

We hope you will be able to join us for this fascinating and thought-provoking event in the vibrant, cultural city of Leeds.

We are delighted to be able to offer a study day on Saturday 8th March 2025 between 9:30am and 4:15pm at 11 Orchard Street, Bristol which has been home to the Severnside Institute for Psychotherapy, a psychoanalytic training organisation, since 1994.

The event is open to clinicians from a range of disciplines working locally and further afield. It will include an introduction to Balint and participatory Balint groups, organised to suit the Balint experience of the participants. This will be a fairly small event so we would encourage early registration to avoid disappointment.

Leaders will include Judy Malone and Clare Harris.

Cost £100 members; £130 non-members; £60 low wage/psychotherapy trainees/medical Undergraduates.

We are happy to confirm our very popular London Leadership Study Day will take place at Swiss Cottage, London on Friday 6th June 2025.

Leadership study days are suitable for those who have experience of being a member of a Balint group and now wish to consider Balint group leadership training or to develop their leadership skills.
